Report: Xbox Entertainment Studios May Not Be Dead After All

Written By Kom Limpulnam on Jumat, 15 Agustus 2014 | 21.50

Microsoft's Xbox Entertainment Studios, the division responsible for original Xbox programming, may not be completely gone as the company originally announced.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is allegedly "shopping for a new home," and has initiated discussions with Warner Bros. about the possibility of being based at its studio as a "stand-alone entity."

Were that to happen, Warner Bros. would reportedly merge Xbox Entertainment Studios with Machinima. However, a Warner Bros. representative commentated that multiple discussions with other companies were also taking place. Any talks taking place are still in their early stages though, and The Hollywood Reporter cites an agreement forming between Xbox Entertainment Studios and Warner Bros. as being "unlikely."

Xbox Entertainment Studios was founded in 2012 shortly after former CBS Television executive Nancy Tellem joined the company as president. Some original programming currently in production from XES includes Signal to Noise--the documentary series that will cover, among other subjects, the Atari E.T. dig--as well as Halo: Nightfall and Steven Spielberg's Halo TV series.
