The problem with being ambitious is you have to be prepared to accept there will be challenges along the way. What Driveclub offers has not been previously achieved in this category, and, because of this, the team needed more time to give you the game you're waiting for.

In addition to the new date, we are also very pleased to announce that as of February 2014, Paul Rustchynsky--better known as Rushy--has been at the helm of Driveclub as Game Director. We appreciate the announcement has come a little late, however we wanted to inform his appointment along with the new date announcement.

His experience when it comes to delivering racing games is impeccable. Previously Game Director on critically acclaimed MotorStorm RC, he has been an integral contributor to all major titles coming out of Evolution Studios since 2004. It has gathered more than 709,000 signatures to date. Just last week, the GTA V PC petition surpassed 690,000 signatures, up from 650,000 earlier this year.

2008's Grand Theft Auto IV launched in April for consoles before coming to PC in December of that year. If GTA V is indeed coming to PC as the rumors say, it's taking long to do so than its predecessor. GTA IV was released for PC 217 days after the console version arrived. By comparison, it's now been 224 days since GTA V originally launched for consoles.

The game is widely expected to come to PC sometime in 2014. In October, multiple Eurogamer sources said GTA V would be released for PC in early 2014, while a representative for Chip maker Intel has said that GTA V is not expected to be a console-exclusive for much longer.

GTA V was released in September 2013 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In addition to a positive critical reception, the open-world game generated $800 million in 24 hours and more than $1 billion in three days. It has since shipped 32.5 million copies.

Rockstar Games cofounder Dan Houser said in November 2012 that a PC version of the open-world game is "up for consideration," though that's all the company has said on the matter. Another high-profile Rockstar Games title, 2010's Red Dead Redemption, never came to PC.

The petition says it is a "big shame" that GTAV is not announced for the PC, specifically calling out the modding community being a "huge part" of PC gaming. "Modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have," a line from the petition reads.

If GTAV does come to PC, it may not be the only new platform for the game. Robert W. Baird analyst Colin Sebastian contends that the game will be released for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2014.

Though we've yet to hear about a PC version of GTA V, that doesn't mean Rockstar is sitting by idly twiddling its thumbs. The studio continues to support GTA V's online mode, GTA Online, with numerous and substantial content updates. On top of that, the game's first story mode DLC is scheduled to launch in 2014, though Rockstar hasn't said anything about it yet.

Eddie Makuch is a news editor at GameSpot, and you can follow him on Twitter @EddieMakuch

Got a news tip or want to contact us directly? The crowdfunding campaign has now reached an incredible $43 million, which is up from $42 million just two weeks ago.

"Another incredible accomplishment by Star Citizen's backers," Roberts said in a blog post about the latest achievement. To mark the milestone, Roberts released work-in-progress images of the Gladius light fighter, which was unlocked at $42 million. One image of this ship is embedded above and more are available at the Star Citizen website.

All backers who contributed to Star Citizen before $43 million will receive a set of marine combat armor added to their accounts for use in the game's planetside first-person shooter module. The armor is (virtually) created of composite mesh fibers reinforced with ablative plates. This allows the person wearing it to be protected against energy and kinetic weapons, Roberts says.

Should Star Citizen funding reach $44 million, players will receive an additional hangar room. In addition, the votes have been tallied and the $45 million reward is a mystery object. "It's pretty cool seeing the community take a chance on something unknown instead of going for a free weapon or other upgrade," Roberts said. This object is "more than just a piece of flare," he went on to say, noting that "it's a puzzle players will someday compete to solve."

Voting is now open for the penultimate $46 million player reward stretch goal, and the options are updated scanner software, a new role-specific outfit, an engine tuning kit, a ship skin, and a space plant.

To put Star Citizen's $42 million into context, Epic Games revealed in 2006 that development on the original Gears of War cost $10 million, while Tim Schafer's 2008 action game Brutal Legend had a budget of around $25 million. It's still well below, however, the development budget for MMOs, which can run into the hundreds of millions.

Star Citizen is due to launch in full sometime in 2015.

Martin's personal assistant Ty Corey Franck is working with Telltale Games as a "story consultant" for the developer's upcoming episodic series based on the acclaimed fantasy franchise.

That's no doubt good news for fans of Game of Thrones who hope to see the fiction make a smooth transition to Telltale's video game. Telltale hasn't said yet what stories it plans to tell from the hugely popular franchise, but we'll find out soon enough, as the series is set to premiere later this year.

Also in the feature, Telltale studio head Colum Slevin--himself a former LucasFilm executive--said Telltale isn't trying to make games that are as visually sophisticated as movies. Instead, the studio's ambitions are to create experiences that "narratively resonate" with audiences, he said.

"Nobody else in the world is doing this or thinking on this scale," Slevin said. "Everyone is focused on trying to make games look as sophisticated as films, as opposed to trying to make games be as emotionally and narratively resonant as film, which is a whole different challenge."

Telltale currently has a number of projects on its plate. In addition to Game of Thrones, the San Rafael, Calif.-based studio is working on the second season of The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and the recently confirmed Tales from the Borderlands.

Eddie Makuch is a news editor at GameSpot, and you can follow him on Twitter @EddieMakuch

Got a news tip or want to contact us directly? My favourite character in the game, Lich, can now target buildings with his Frost Armor ability. Amazing. Sven has received a hefty increase to his base damage, too, and Bounty Hunter's Track has an increased range, making it even easier to use and inevitably even more frustrating when your random teammate absolutely refuses to do it.

All these changes are arriving as part of update 6.81, along with a bunch of interface updates and another handful of new treasures.
