@maghdie That's what I've been asking. I get the Far Cry, because they want to keep the brand recognition, and it's not like there was a connecting narrative with FC 1-2-3, but including the 3 really makes it seem like there should be more of a direct connection. From what I'm seeing though (and hearing from folks who are already playing the leaked game), is that the only real connection is the fact that the gameplay itself is a perfect rip of FC3, with a new skin. The takedowns, the gunplay, the cover system, the hunting, looting bodies, taking over enemy strongholds to make areas of the map safer, etc.
