Madden NFL 15 Holiday Edition Includes Ray Lewis, Emmitt Smith, Dan Marino

Written By Kom Limpulnam on Selasa, 02 Desember 2014 | 21.50

EA Sports today announced a Holiday Edition of its professional football game, Madden NFL 15. The digital-only version, which is available today through January 12, 2015 on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, will come with the main game as well as over $20 worth of Ultimate Team content.

This includes 10 Pro Packs for Madden Ultimate Team, in addition to a special "Ghosts of Madden Past Pack" that features football icons Dan Marino, Emmitt Smith, and Ray Lewis, a player who should be particularly dominant in Madden NFL 15 thanks to the game's new emphasis on defense.

Madden NFL 15 Holiday Edition sells for $60. The game is available in North and South America for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and worldwide for Xbox One. There's no word on a release for Xbox 360.

PS4 Gets Dead Island 2 Beta Before Xbox One, PC

The upcoming beta for open-world zombie game Dead Island 2 will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 for a period of 30 days. After that time is up, it will be made available on Xbox One and PC, according to an FAQ on the game's website spotted by Videogamer.

To get into the Dead Island 2 beta, you needed to have preordered November's cel-shaded spinoff, Escape Dead Island. Publisher Deep Silver has not announced any other ways you can get into the Dead Island 2 beta, though it still has plenty of time to announce further plans.

A start date for the Dead Island 2 beta has not been announced, nor are there any immediate details on what the beta will entail.

Unlike the original Dead Island (2011) and sequel Dead Island Riptide (2013), which were developed by Polish studio Techland, Dead Island 2 is currently in development at Spec Ops: The Line studio Yager.

Dead Island 2 is not the only new Dead Island project in the works. There is also the MOBA Dead Island Epidemic and a Dead Island movie, which was recently resurrected.

For more on Dead Island 2, which launches in 2015, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

GameStop's Cyber Monday Deals to Run All Week

Video game retailer GameStop has announced that its Cyber Monday deals, which began yesterday, will run all week. The deals, which include discounts on consoles, games, and accessories, will be in effect until Sunday, December 7, both online and at the retailer's 4,200+ stores across the United States.

GameStop vice president of multichannel strategy, Jason Allen, said in a statement that Cyber Monday has become such a huge draw for shoppers (outpacing Black Friday, he said) that the company wanted to extend the duration of the sale to accommodate more consumers.

Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia appeared to find the policy understandable. He said in a note to investors on Tuesday that GameStop's decision to extend its Cyber Monday sale duration represents a "recognition of the changing consumer shopping patterns."

Some of the best Cyber Monday deals this year at GameStop are continuations of what was offered on Black Friday. If you're in the market for a current-generation console, GameStop is offering the Assassin's Creed Unity Xbox One bundle (which also comes with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag) for $330. Meanwhile, you can get a PlayStation 4 with copies of Grand Theft Auto V and The Last of Us Remastered for $400.

You can see a full rundown of GameStop's Cyber Monday deals here.

GameStop has not announced any details regarding Black Friday performance for this year, but Bhatia says, based on checks with the company, that traffic was down year-over-year.

However, Bhatia also points out that Black Friday is just one day. When considering sales on Saturday and Sunday (November 29 and November 30), as well as the prior weekend, Bhatia said GameStop remains on track to hit its financial targets for the all-important holiday quarter.

New Alien: Isolation DLC Tells Dr Lingard's Story

Publisher Sega has begun to roll out the second downloadable mission pack for Alien: Isolation.

The DLC, entitled Trauma, offers a trio of new maps for Survival Mode; a single-player challenge where players must dash through custom-built locations as quickly as possible whilst being hunted.

The first Survival Mode DLC offered one map, called Basement, which GameSpot's video team described as "beyond scary." Now, the latest DLC comes with a trio of maps to scramble through (Reoperation, Crawl Space, and Overrun).

Trauma also puts players in the role of chief medical officer Dr Lingard, a character who is "racked with guilt and feeling responsible for bringing the creature on board."

Developer Creative Assembly writes: "Wanting to ensure that her research on the creature can never fall into the wrong hands, Lingard sets out to destroy all the data and do as much as she can to help the remaining survivors."

A video run-through of the Trauma mode can be found above.

Sony Terminating FIFA Sponsorship Deal

Written By Kom Limpulnam on Senin, 01 Desember 2014 | 21.50

Sony will not renew its sponsorship contract with worldwide soccer governing body FIFA, as the technology behemoth seeks to instead spend its money on a number of reforms.

Sony was a marquee FIFA sponsor, backing more than 40 tournaments, including multiple World Cups. The Telegraph reports that Sony had been a FIFA sponsor since 2006, in a contract worth £222 million ($348.7 million).

Sony's sponsorship deal with FIFA ends December 31. A report from Nikkei said Sony considered renewing its deal with FIFA, but ultimately decided not to over concerns that sponsorship costs might rise. Sony's decision to walk away from FIFA comes as the company is seeking to complete "structural reforms" during this fiscal year, Nikkei said.

Just last week, Sony laid out part of this vision, saying that it will cut back on its TV and mobile phone business units and instead place more focus on PlayStation

Sony's decision to terminate its FIFA sponsorship contract also comes as the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has been faced with bribery allegations. Longstanding FIFA sponsor Adidas said it was concerned about these claims, while another major backer, Coca-Cola, said anything that detracts from the mission and ideals of the World Cup is a "concern" for the company.

Only the Best Advanced Warfare Players Can Wear This Gorgeous Armor

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare developer Sledgehammer Games has revealed an exclusive ornate armor set that will be given only to the game's very best players. Debuted on Twitter, the Grand Master Character Gear set will be distributed to the top 100 ranked Advanced Warfare players across the globe.

Translation: you and I will never get to wear this gear. And if you see someone in the game outfitted with this set, you'll want to run the other direction, though it will probably be too late by that point.

Advanced Warfare was released in early November, outselling 2013's Call of Duty: Ghosts during its first week. Activision says Advanced Warfare is now the "biggest entertainment launch" of 2014, though no hard sales figures for the game have been announced.

Set to launch in 2015 is Advanced Warfare's first expansion pack, Havoc, which introduces new multiplayer maps and Exo Zombies, Sledgehammer's take on the popular undead mode. For more on Advanced Warfare, check out GameSpot's review.

Batman: Arkham Knight Devs Talk About Batman's Suit, Predator Challenges, and More

Written By Kom Limpulnam on Minggu, 30 November 2014 | 21.50

Batman: Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady held a Reddit Ask Me Anything yesterday where they answered some questions about the upcoming game as well as their previous entries in the series.

Reddit user dart278 asked why Batman's suit looks more robotic than it did in previous games.

RockSteady: "We wanted to highlight the interaction between Batman and the Batmobile - you'll see that the suit mirrors the design of the car in a lot of ways. The new suit impacts gameplay as well, as it enhances some of Batman's abilities, particularly in the way the Batman and the car work together."

ANBU_Spectre asked if Rocksteady added new combat moves and animations we didn't see in the previous games.

Rocksteady: "Zafer Coban and the rest of the animation team have been doing some amazing work on making combat look and feel awesome. For example, there's a scene toward the end of the Ace Chemicals Infiltration Part 1 Trailer where Batman faces off against two combat experts. Everything in that shot is taken straight from the game - we just shifted the camera to get a slightly more cinematic angle."

DanishxAssassin asked what's what's Rocksteady's favorite new addition to the game outside the batmobile.

Rocksteady: "It has to be the open city - now that we've got all of Gotham to explore it's a great experience. The City design team here has done an amazing job building an environment that's huge and intricately detailed. The detail in Arkham games was always my favourite thing about playing them before I joined Rocksteady, and it's awesome that the guys have managed to keep that level of care on something so much bigger."

Chilldude205 asked what changes Rocksteady made the game's Predator Challenges.

Rocksteady: "I think my favourite tweak to predator has to be size of some of the encounters. You're going to be taking on large, varied groups of armed guards. You'll need to be a serious predator expert if you want to complete those sections without alerts."

SPOILER ALERT for Batman: Arkham City ahead.

FogKnight22 asked if was harder to write the story for Arkham Knight given the events of Arkham City.

RockSteady: "I think it's quite the opposite! Sefton has said that when they started work on Batman: Arkham City, they had the vision of the final scene Joker's death almost from the start, and looked at the story from the perspective of the events that would lead to that point.

"With Batman: Arkham Knight, that ending is the point that we jump off from, asking 'what happens when Joker is removed from Gotham' and looking at the fallout from those events."

Finally, Rocksteady said it will release a new trailer for the game on Monday, 9 a.m. PST.

Arkham Knight launches in June 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game was originally targeted to launch this fall, but developer Rocksteady pushed it back to add more polish.

Why Warlords of Draenor Got Me Back into World of Warcraft

The only world of warcraft game that I REALLY played was the wrath of lich king. I loved the warcraft III and its expansion pack's campaigns, so the wrath of lich king's story made the game interesting to me. All the other games after that seemed a bit too randomized. I haven't played after lich king, so I maybe not the right person to start judging how WOW was, but it didn't captivate me to even start trying. (I was a heavy gamer back in the wrath of lich king days)

I rather played skyrim and fallout on my spare time.

This time, it kind of gets my attention, but I want to stay cautious and see the actual review first. I personally want to relate the warcraft III campaigns to WOW. The races' struggle to survive. The mysterious hidden powers that people sought. The emotional stories that made me feel personally attached. What WOW had more than that was it's grandness of exploration to see the WORLD of warcraft. It showed what it's like to live as a member of the warcraft universe.

ALL these combinations were great, but too many updates that made lots of short cuts made players less focus on the story, but rather seek for the best items. That is how I became addicted to the game and eventually quit it, because I could not afford myself to be constantly logged in to keep raiding with my guild members. Warcraft was never about the graphics, never about fancy combat systems. Though, it was about having every little system contain a meaning to it.

Warcraft lost its meaning to it, and wish it can bring it back to where it was.
